The Press Room at El Requexón today played host to the presentation of the award for February’s ‘Jugador Cinco Estrellas’ Player of the Month to Sergio Tejera. Driving the Asturian side on from the midfield and contributing goals and assists to the team, the Catalan was voted for by fans of ‘Los Azules’, who chose between the five players nominated by the beer company on their Twitter profile @futbolmahou.

After receiving the award from David García, representative of Mahou, the Real Oviedo midfielder spoke with the media gathered in the Press Room.

Tejera began by assessing last weekend’s match at Son Moix, stating that “we left Mallorca really annoyed because it was a good opportunity, but things didn’t work out. We have to look at the mistakes and work so that they don't happen again. We had a bad day, things didn’t work out, but we shouldn’t go crazy over it. We have to get back to the form that we had been in.

Real Oviedo will have another opportunity to return to winning ways this Sunday against Nástic de Tarragona. Speaking about the fixture, Sergio Tejera commented that “we are all taking this match as seriously as possible. They’ll be coming into it to compete and to take home points. We have to be professional and get the victory.”

After receiving his fifth yellow card of the season, Sergio Tejera will not be able to feature in the match against the Catalan side. The midfielder stated that “the Coach has no problem with finding a replacement, but it is hard for me not to be able to play against Nástic. I was not thinking about the card in Mallorca, it’s something that happens in football.”

When asked about his feelings on a personal level, the midfielder stated that “I am well, and having a great year. I have to keep working and helping the team. We’re doing well.”

Finally, with the four of the next five matches for Real Oviedo being at home, Tejera concluded that “it will be a nice month and we have to compete at a high level. It is always special to play against those at the top of the league.”
