OVIEDISTAS

For the Little Heroes of the Home

Rocío and Dani, like a lot of Oviedistas, miss their afternoons in the park and their weekends at the Carlos Tartiere

Our second tale of anonymous heroes has arrived, again helping us to value everything a little more during these days of quarantine.  We are being told tales of battles being overcome, and trying to provide a platform to spread these stories.
One of the groups of society most affected by this current situation is children.  As such, the story we wish to share today is that of two small Oviedistas.
Before anything else, we would like to congratulate you for this fantastic initiative, and take the chance to introduce these two anonymous heroes. They are Rocío and Dani (my children).  They are anonymous heroes, because they aren't having a 'normal' lockdown.  My wife works in a pharmacy, and I work in food supply.  As a result, they have to pass the mornings alone. But they make an effort and make their own beds, their breakfasts, and do their homework during the morning.  When us parents get home from work at 14:00 and 14:30 they have a new habit which they don't like; instead of giving us kisses like normal when we arrive, they have to wait for us to
shower before they greet us.  They are dealing with it well, but starting to show signs of having spent a lot of time at home.  Daniel in particular misses matches in the park and the ritual of going to the Tartiere, given that he is a season-ticket holder.  To satisfy the cravings a little we have watched the matches against Barca and Madrid on Youtube, as well as the FIFA derby won by Bárcenas.  Of course, at 20:00 it is time to applaud the health workers "so that this all ends soon".  Like all other children, the two of them miss their school friends.  They are both home heroes!*
