Farewell Letter from Javi Rozada

The Oviedo-born coach bids farewell to Real Oviedo in this statement

There are no reactions yet. Be the first!
I wish to thank the entirety of 'Oviedismo' for these months, which, although they have ended earlier than I hoped, have at the very least allowed me to fulfill a dream.  There is no greater privilege than being in charge of the first team of my city.  Ever since I started coaching, I dreamt of being Real Oviedo Head Coach.  Of coaching my team.  Of feeling the drive of Tartiere crowd.  This first experience has been shorter than I wished, but it's an experience which I will always carry with me.
I leave here proud of the work done and of the team's evolution, but, above all, I leave with my conscious clear, knowing that I have given everything.  We took charge of the team in a limiting situation, we managed to lift it, but we have not been able to find consistency in the results, despite the daily work at El Requexón which made us feel so proud.  The team is prepared for the remainder of the season; I have no doubt that all of the players are available to play in the 14 'cup finals' left this season.
I will always be left wondering what would have happened if I had stayed for the whole season.  But those are the rules of the game, and I accept them.  I only have words of gratitude towards everyone involved with the club.
I wish to thank all of the people who made it possible for me to have this experience.  To the Club President Jorge Menéndez Vallina, Directors Manuel Paredes and Fernando Corral, César Martín, David Mata, Joaquín del Olmo, Lalo Rergis, Michu, Francesc Arnau, Federico González, and especially to Arturo Elías, whose belief allowed me to become the youngest Head Coach in the division.  I also wish to thank all of the employees who form part of Real Oviedo, my coaching staff, and, of course, the players.
Thank you, from my heart!  All of you have made me a better coach.
I thank the fans for their support, and the Press for the respect they have shown me.  Independently of on-field criticism, I have felt loved and respected.  I hope they continue to back their team in the same way.
It's the second time I have left Real Oviedo, and, just as the first time, I will do so to continue growing as a coach.  I will come back more prepared and more experienced, ready to take on more ambitious challenges at the club of my life.  That's what it's all about: getting back up and keeping going.  Growing from each experience.  Real Oviedo knows all about this.
I wish all the luck in the world to the new Head Coach and to Real Oviedo.  I will be on the other side now, supporting the team like everybody else, and I will celebrate every victory.
¡Hala Oviedo!
Javi Rozada.
