Arribas Signs for Real Oviedo

The centre back, who has played more than 200 matches in the Primera División, signs a contract until 2022, pending the successful completion of a medical

Real Oviedo has reached an agreement to sign centre back Alejandro Arribas on a contract until 30th June 2022, pending the successful completion of a medical (scheduled for tomorrow).

The thirty year-old defender was born on 1st May 1989 in Madrid. After coming through the academy at Rayo Majadahonda, he made his professional debut for Rayo Vallecano in 2010, following a brief stint in the B team. He achieved promotion to the Primera División with Rayo in the 2010/11 season, before joining fellow first-division side CA Osasuna in 2012. His next move was to Sevilla FC, where he was part of the squad which lifted the Europa League trophy in 2014/15. He then moved onto Deportivo de la Coruña, with whom he spent three more years in the top flight. In 2018, he made the move to Mexico to represent Pumas, where he has been playing until the present day. Alejandro Arribas has accumulated vast experience of professional football, with more than two hundred top-flight games (40 in Mexico) and a promotion to the top division of Spanish football under his belt, as well as having become a Europa League champion with Sevilla FC.
