A crazy ending for a golden point

Real Oviedo, which came into the match after two consecutive victories, leveled a 2-0 deficit against UD Almería in a thrilling final stretch thanks to a brace from Jacobo in the last minutes.

Real Oviedo earned a highly commendable point during their visit to Almería after staging a spectacular comeback in the final moments of the match. The Blues, who entered the game with the hope of securing their third consecutive victory, had to fight an uphill battle for much of the match but never stopped believing. Jacobo emerged as the standout hero of a night that seemed lost.

The match started on a tough note for the Carbayones, who were outplayed by Almería during the first half. The home team quickly found their way to the Blues' goal and opened the scoring through Arribas, who finished off a cross with a shot from inside the box to make it 1-0.

Real Oviedo tried to respond and found one of their best chances to equalize through Enzo Pérez. The academy player executed a brilliant individual move that ended with a shot hitting the crossbar. The Oviedo side came close to leveling the score, but Almería capitalized on their next opportunity shortly after, scoring a second goal to make the match even more challenging for the visitors.

With the score at 2-0, the Oviedo team sought a goal to get back into the game but failed to do so before halftime. The Asturians headed to the locker room needing to change the course of the match to keep their chances of earning points alive.

After the break, the coach made adjustments to spark a reaction. Calero made two substitutions, bringing on Mingo and Pablo Sáenz in place of Reina and Aldasoro, aiming to inject energy and provide new options for the team’s play.

Real Oviedo began to grow as the minutes passed and started to believe in their chances. The Blues pushed forward, sought greater presence in the opponent's half, and began creating opportunities to close the gap. Later, Estanis Pedrola also joined the game to bolster Oviedo's attack.

One of the most notable chances came from Mingo, whose attempt went over the crossbar. Oviedo kept pressing, while Almería tried to exploit spaces on the counterattack, though they failed to create significant danger for the Blues' goal. Time was running out, and the scoreboard still showed a 2-0 that seemed to seal the Carbayones' fate. However, the team did not give up and found their reward for persistence in the final minutes.

The closing moments of the match were pure chaos. Jacobo, who had entered the pitch in the last five minutes, became the absolute star of the game. First, with a magnificent goal from the edge of the box, he made it 2-1 and reignited hope for Real Oviedo.

Just a minute later, in the 90th minute, the Blues' attacker appeared again. After receiving a through ball in the box, Jacobo attempted a cross. However, his ball deflected off an Almería defender and went past the home team's goalkeeper to make it 2-2.

In a matter of moments, Real Oviedo went from being two goals down to celebrating a draw that had seemed impossible. Jacobo's brace rewarded the persistence of a team that believed until the very last second and found a way in the final stretch to avoid defeat and take a well-deserved point from Almería.
