Real Oviedo forward, Toché, this morning attended the unveiling of Real Oviedo Kids. He also went to the event in his role as a father, given that the project is aimed at children.
Asked about the feelings after the Almería match and “a hard journey home mby coach”, the striker highlighted that “the important thing was the match, since we knew it would be difficult but we turned up. We want a victory as soon as possible.”
Toché’s views on the group and the team’s competitiveness are positive, as he understands that “both matches have been good against difficult opponents, and I think we deserved more but that’s the way it is. The victory will come, hopefully this week. We created chances, although we could do more in attack; but generally, we are pleased. We must keep going in this way, and we’re hoping for a win this weekend.”
With regards to Saúl Berjón’s performances in the opening two matches, and the fact Toché hasn’t yet found the net, the striker stated very calmly that “I know I am going to have chances and that the goals will come. I would have liked to have got off the mark but a good run will arrive and so will the goals.” About the current form of his teammate, who is the current top scorer in the division, Toché declared himself “happy he’s on form. He’s fantastic, a great player. I hope he stays like this all season, but if he has a bad run then we must keep supporting him and valuing his work.”
Regarding the team bond and the room for growth, the striker said that “the coach is going to add new players little by little. We will all be important, and it’s a very balanced squad. The team is going to have a good year.”
The trip to Almería was enough to show how the team is going to compete this year at the Carlos Tartiere, and the forward from Murcia recognised that “it was a difficult place to go, we knew that it was going to be difficult. The team was quite good, we didn’t drift off, and we picked up a point. Maybe we saw a different team to last year.”
When asked about the other teams and the standard of the division, Toché thinks that “this year there’s no team like Levante (last year). We want to be in the running, we are made for it. We are going to fight for good things.”
Finally, and with respect to the intensity demanded by Anquela in every training session and match, the forward made clear that “it is unnegotiable, we can’t negotiate fighting. We know how the coach is. He pressures us and that is important, he is challenging us. If we play with intensity, we will win many matches purely because of that,” he concluded.
