The coach of Real Oviedo, Julián Calero, evaluated the blue team's victory against Albacete in the post-match press conference. The coach wanted to highlight his team's competitive ability, especially after a week marked by injuries and absences, and emphasized the importance of a win that allows the Oviedo team to regain confidence and secure three much-needed points.

"I want to congratulate my players because we came from a difficult situation with points and injuries," the coach stated first. Calero acknowledged that the match was not brilliant in all its phases, something that, in his opinion, was expected given the circumstances of both teams. "At times the team was better, and at others, just average, even in areas where I don't like us to be," he explained.

For the blue coach, above all was the way his players approached the game. "What stands out is the way the boys competed and how we defended. We need to do more, but these victories strengthen the project," he affirmed.

When asked what he took away from the match, the Madrid-born coach highlighted the team's ability to overcome a game conditioned by the circumstances. "If you push me, we've been better on other days than today. But sometimes it's about this: good teams compete well and know how to adapt to circumstances. We adapted," he emphasized.

The coach detailed that one of the objectives was to keep the team away from their own goal, something they managed to do for much of the match. "Our idea was to stay far from the goal, and we achieved that at times. Except at the end, when they came at us," he pointed out.

Regarding the change introduced after halftime, with the inclusion of four midfielders to try to gain more possession of the ball, he said, "We wanted more possession, so I put in four midfielders in the second half to try to keep the ball. But sometimes necessity presses you, and you decide to protect what you have," he indicated.

The importance of the victory was also reflected in the emotional aspect. Calero considered that the win is a boost for the locker room and the entire Oviedo environment, especially for the fans who accompanied the team to Albacete.

"This victory is very important emotionally. Let no one stop believing," he affirmed. The coach, however, called for maintaining perspective and approaching both victories and defeats with balance: "We won't throw a party for winning, but we won't hold funerals for losses either."
