Real Oviedo’s newest signing, Juan Forlín, was officially presented this lunchtime at the Carlos Tartiere.

The defender was accompanied by all of his family, as well as César Martín, the club’s Head of Institutional Relations. Martín described him as “a player with a long career, a lot of experience, and who can play both at centre back and in midfield. He will give the coach a lot of options. We hope that he’s happy with us during the next two seasons, and that he helps us achieve our objectives. We thank him for his willingness to sign up to our project. Despite receiving many offers and having a high market value he has opted to join Real Oviedo. The fact he’s chosen our club shows that he is highly motivated, knows the importance of this club and objectives that it has.”

Forlín meanwhile declared his “gratitude to the club for the effort they made to bring me here. The reception from my teammates and everybody else has been fantastic.” When asked why he decided upon Real Oviedo, the Argentine admitted that he had received many offers, but explained that it owed to “the interest, willingness, and desire they showed to bring me here. I am very grateful for it and I will give everything for this shirt.” The player, who boasts First Division experience, stated that “you
must fight and compete every match, be it in the First or Second Division. I won’t lack desire. I am very happy. The coach will decide whether I can play or not. I am here to add to and help the team.”

Asked about the coach, the player commented that “he is a very demanding man, but he is also a good person, which is very important. I will also be demanding a lot of myself,” he concluded.
