The press room at El Requexón was the site of Saul Berjón’s press conference after the first team’s training session.

In light of the final days of the preseason, the Oviedan said that, “These have been good weeks of training, with a heavy workload. Now we want LaLiga to start, that’s what we like.”

This has been another preseason that has been marked by intensity. Referring to this circumstance, the blue forward said that, “Intensity is what defines the gaffer. Without intensity, we wouldn’t be Anquela’s team. We are evidence that with hard work and intensity, it’s possible.”

Regarding his assessment of the preseason, the Carbayón commented that, “The team is doing well, going up against all of our rivals. We have a good group. Tomorrow there’s a match against a great team. We’re going to take it seriously and try to make it positive.”

On the arrival of Ibrahima Baldé, Saúl stated that, “He’s a good player with a great background. He’s a big forward that wants to get the ball in the penalty area to finish. He’s going to be good for us.”

When asked about his role as captain, the winger pointed out that, “It’s really exciting to be one of the captains for the team that you have supported since you were little. I accept this opportunity with responsibility.”

Finally, on his preference of strategies, the Real Oviedo captain said that, “I’ve been playing with 4 or 5 [systems] my whole life, it’s not going to be any different. Variation is the best thing that can happen to us. We need to adapt, enjoy, and have a good year,” the Oviedan concluded.
