Real Oviedo midfielder, Javier Muñoz, today appeared in the Press Room at El Requexón.

Following last weekend’s match against Almería, the midfielder admitted that, “we wanted to continue our run. It’s true we started the match well, but our wish went unfulfilled. It’s time to think about Granada. We have to work hard and go there for the three points.” In addition, the Madrid-born player commented that, “the squad is prepared to turn up and win. We have to go to Granada to compete.”

Regarding the team’s previous good run, taking seven points from the nine available before the Almería match, Muñoz reasoned that, “we’d been playing well and were a tight unit. We made two mistakes the other day. We have to correct them and make sure they don’t happen again.”

Ahead of Saturday’s fixture at the Nuevo los Cármenes stadium, the midfielder believes that, “it will be a difficult game against one of the best teams in the division. We’ll give it everything in Granada. If we want to be up there we have to turn up and win.”

Asked about his feelings on a personal level, he highlighted that, “I am happy. I try to do the best I can when the Coach needs me. I just need to keep working and help the team.”

Finally, regarding the league standings and the importance of getting three points to move towards the top of the table, Muñoz stated that, “the team has the mentality to get victories. During the final months (of the season) we will think about finishing up there, but right now we have to take it week by week. The teams towards the top aren’t slipping up, but if we get on a good run then we can get ourselves back up there,” he concluded.
