Real Oviedo Head Coach, Juan Antonio Anquela, today appeared in the Press Room at El Requexón.

As has been the case in recent weeks, the Coach began by offering an update on the injured players, saying that, “the only person we’ll have back is Carlos (Hernández), and I’m not sure he’ll be ready to start. The rest are still out.”

Ahead of the weekend’s match and regarding the week’s work, the Coach stated that, “I always said that the more excitement and desire we had, the worse things went for us. You saw it the other day. We have to look at the goals for and against, because they’re killing us. We were hungry the other day, but we didn’t know how to manage the game and conceded. People are working well, but it’s clear that it’s a hard start to a week after a defeat. We know how difficult every game is.” In addition, regarding the key to the match at the Nuevo Los Cármenes, Anquela insisted that, “calmness is the key word. I always say that. Every week is like the end of the world, but it’s a long season. Putting unnecessary pressure on yourself does no good at all. I’m only interested in Granada. It will be a constant battle in which we need to do the best we can.”

With respect to the next opponent, Granada, Anquela commented that, “we are travelling to face the league leader; the best team so far this season. They play good football and are in good shape. We have to produce a professional performance.”

Finally, regarding whether he wants to see a performance from his team in Granada which is similar to their showing in Las Palmas, the Coach highlighted that, “every game is different, but it could be the path to follow. They are two different opponents, but we are going to try it. We know that’s the path to follow,” he concluded.
