The exceptional situation we have been living through in recent weeks means that every different area of the club has had to adapt its work to the current time. In terms of the technical staff, headed by Francesc Arnau, the working method largely represents that which had been used before, given that "although you can't watch matches live, you can do it all through videos."
David Comamala and Roberto Suárez spoke to RealOviedoTV to evaluate how their work has been during the past few weeks, stating that "Francesc is in charge and we contribute reports and information about players, teams..." The information is "as filtered and well-worked as possible". The staff normally use it to comb through Spanish football, ranging from Primera and Segunda to Segunda B. However, quarantine "has opened the spectrum up to other players and countries, to weigh up possible incomings."
With respect to the way of working, the technical staff members "organise the work using video calls, to then filter it into a piece of software, contributing the information collected."
Many hours of dedication allow them to watch a maximum of three games a day, as well as "player circumstances, which arrive daily" and occupy another three or four hours, plus one more hour to produce the report."
During the quarantine period, the members of the technical staff have produced a total of 450 reports, meaning that 12,000 have now been made since the department started up.
