At 12:00 PM on September 10, the press room of the Carlos Tartiere stadium was the setting for the pre-match press conference ahead of the next commitment of the Spanish National Team, which will return to Oviedo to face the Czech Republic on October 3.

The event was attended by the national coach, Luis de la Fuente, on a day that was especially significant for Oviedo football. The National Team will play a match in the capital of the Principality of Asturias 11 years later, allowing the city's fans, who sold out tickets in minutes, to once again enjoy the reigning world champions.

Alongside Luis de la Fuente, representatives of the main Asturian and Oviedo institutions were present, including the mayor of Oviedo, the president of the Royal Football Federation of the Principality of Asturias, and the Minister of Finance and European Affairs of the Principality of Asturias. Also attending the event were Jesús Martínez, president of Grupo Pachuca, Martín Peláez, president of Real Oviedo, as well as club employees and numerous representatives of the media.

During his speech, Luis de la Fuente expressed his satisfaction at returning to Asturias and, especially, at doing so in a city with a strong connection to football. “I am delighted to come to such a football-loving city as Oviedo. I have never coached in Asturias, in any category, so I am very happy because my grandmother was Asturian. I am very eager to return here to play.”

The visit of the Spanish National Team thus represents a special event for Oviedo and for Real Oviedo, which will once again take center stage in a major football event with the Carlos Tartiere stadium as the venue for a new international match. On October 3, Oviedo will once again welcome our two-time world champions.
