Real Oviedo midfielder appeared in the Press Room at El Requexón, after the team had trained behind closed doors this morning.
The Catalan, who has trained alongside his teammates this week, stated that, “I feel good. I’m lacking sharpness, but I need minutes. I’m happy to be back training. I’ll be there whenever the Coach needs me.”
Asked for his view on the team during the opening matches and the performance of the midfield in his absence, Folch said that, “they are doing well. We are using a new formation. We are using three central midfielders, and so we get more players in the middle of the pitch. The team is working well. We have a small squad, but one with a lot of quality and competition. We hope not to have many injuries and to be able to compete.”
With respect to the upcoming run of three matches in ten days which the team faces, Folch argued that, “we have a team that can compete. We have to play in midweek, but we are ready. We can also use youth team players.”
Asked about the importance of returning home, the midfielder believes that, “it’s good to play at the Carlos Tartiere. We have to show that we are strong at home with our fans behind us.”
Finally, ahead of the Zaragoza clash, the Catalan commented that, “they are a great team. They have kept their players from last year and are playing the same way. They have good players and we know that they’ll be fighting for promotion,” he concluded.
