The coach of Real Oviedo, Guillermo Almada, appeared this Saturday before the media in the press room of El Requexón to analyze the current situation of the blue team before the next league match against Athletic Club. The Oviedo coach reviewed the state of the locker room, the preparation for the match, and the physical condition of the squad, conveying a message of focus and collective commitment.

Almada was asked about the off-field situation that arose in recent days and made it clear that the team remains focused solely on the pitch.

“The matter has already been discussed enough and it is up to the club's management. We must focus on what lies ahead, on competing and preparing for the match against Athletic, because there are situations that do not depend on us,” he explained.

The coach acknowledged that the interruption of the schedule came at a positive moment for the team after a victory that had boosted the group's confidence.

“We would have liked to keep playing because of the momentum we had, as victories generate confidence and good feelings. But reality is what it is, and we must adapt. We have planned the week thinking exclusively about the next opponent,” he stated.

Regarding the physical condition of the squad, Almada detailed the progress of several players.

“Ovie Ejaria is improving, he is progressing, although he still cannot complete all actions. One thing is medical clearance and another is sports clearance, and we are still waiting for him to be able to work fully normally,” he indicated.

Regarding Rahim, he confirmed positive news: “He has trained normally throughout the week and will surely be included in the squad.”

The blue coach anticipated a demanding match against a consolidated opponent.

“It will be a very tough match. They have a coach with continuity and an established working process, as well as a broad and high-quality squad. We are not in a position to underestimate anyone,” he stated. “We will have to do many things well to compete.”
