Press conference of Real Oviedo's coach, Julián Calero, after this afternoon's match held at the Carlos Tartiere. The blue coach analyzed a game marked by Aldasoro's early sending-off.
"I am tremendously proud of my players. First, with 11 players creating situations, not letting our opponent play, and with 10, we didn't let the numerical superiority show. We are upset because we wanted the three points, but circumstances are what they are."
On the 26th-minute sending-off after the VAR call: "There is contact at the calf level, the referee thinks it's just a foul, and of course, if you take a snapshot there, you're definitely sent off. In these situations, depending on how things go for us, we complain or not, and football becomes something unpredictable."
Calero continued lamenting not having secured all three points. "We deserved the victory even with one less player, but this isn't about deserving. You have to be strong in the penalty areas. In ours, we are being strong; in the other, we are lacking. We can't let nervousness get to us, but it is frustrating to go three home games without scoring at the Tartiere with everything we've created. Teams at the top need to be strong at home, and we haven't managed that. We'll have to make up for it away from home. Once the team breaks through, I know we will push forward."
