Real Oviedo and Diego Espinosa have reached an agreement to extend the player's contract with the blue entity. The center-back, who had a valid contract until June 2028, now extends his commitment for one more season, until 2029. In this way, the player will continue wearing the Oviedo team's jersey in the coming seasons.
The defender, who arrived in the capital of the Principality this season, has become an important piece in Roberto Aguirre's Real Oviedo Vetusta, which competes in Group I of the Segunda Federación. To date, Espinosa has played 20 matches this season - all as a starter - and has accumulated a total of 1,800 minutes played.
Present and future
Espinosa has also contributed two goals, demonstrating his ability to contribute offensively, and has been present in the first team's training sessions in recent weeks, confirming his progression within the club's structure.
With this agreement, the paths of the blue institution and the defender will remain linked for the coming seasons, and the club reinforces its commitment to continuity and the construction of a solid project for the present and future.
