Real Oviedo winger, Aarón Ñíguez, appeared in the Press Room at El Requexón today.

The winger began by evaluating how he feels on an individual level, admitting that, “I’m starting to feel better and trying to get match fit. Preseason didn’t go to plan, but I’m now catching up with my teammates. I have to keep getting minutes in training and in matches and catch up with the pace of the division.”

Regarding the competition that exists within the squad and how it affects a player, Aarón believes that, “we have had competition both this year and last year. It’s good for the group and will make us grow in the coming matches. It’s a different squad, and the bar has been raised. It’s time to show what we are capable of and then at the end of the season we’ll see how it’s gone.”

With respect to the positive atmosphere being created around the team, the wide man stated that, “a good environment is being created, but we know that it’s a long season and things can change. We have to take it calmly and a week at a time. Everyone is optimistic, but it’s football. After two bad matches, pessimism creeps in. We have to stay calm.”

Finally, asked about last weekend’s draw in Cádiz, the Azul player commented that, “it’s difficult to draw away from home. We did a great job the other day and we wouldn’t have deserved to lose. We now face Zaragoza, with three important points available. We are happy and excited to be at home again.”
