Borja Bastón: "I'm really happy and feel at home"

The Real Oviedo striker has spoken ahead of the start of the upcoming league season

The Press Room at the Carlos Tartiere today saw Borja Bastón appear before the media, ahead of the league's start next Monday, with the striker describing the "renewed hope" and his desire for a "great year".
 
Bastón discussed interest shown in him following his fine season, explaining that he is very happy at Real Oviedo and that he feels "at home and happy to be able to stay here."
 
The forward is completely focused on the fixture against FC Andorra and hopes to start the season with a victory, which would be a first since Los Carbayones returned to professional football in 2015.
 
Asked about the front line, Bastón declared his happiness with his teammates, saying that "we are three strikers that can play together." He is hoping that, through hard work, the team is able to repay the fans for the excitement demonstrated at the start of the season-ticket campaign.
 
Regarding his new role as captain, the striker feels proud to be able to represent Real Oviedo, the fans, and his teammates. He thanked the teammates for placing their trust in him, with a special mention for Jimmy. The two players finished level on votes, and the midfielder gave the armband to Bastón. "You have to be grateful that a boy from the academy, with the values of here, gives you that responsibility."
 
Borja Bastón and the rest of the first-team squad worked out at the Carlos Tartiere after the press conference. They were backed by fans, who are now counting down the hours for the start of the season this Monday, when Real Oviedo will face Andorra.
