Real Oviedo fell to Eldense at the Nuevo Pepico Amat (4-1) after taking an early lead thanks to a quick goal by Reina. The team was unable to maintain their advantage after halftime and ended up conceding four goals in a second half where the home side was vastly superior.
Real Oviedo could not extend the positive momentum from the Asturian derby and left Elda with a tough defeat. The blue team started the match in the best possible way, taking an early lead. Reina capitalized on the first approach by the blues to make it 0-1 after a defensive error.
With the lead in their favor, Oviedo tried to control the game against an Eldense side looking to respond. The first half was marked by a scrappier style of play, with few clear chances and many battles in the central area. The home team tried to push forward, but the blues managed to hold on and maintain their lead until halftime.
After the break, the game completely changed. Eldense stepped up and began to find more space against an Oviedo side that lost control of the match. Two penalty decisions by the referee proved decisive. Samu Rodríguez committed the first foul, while Pablo Sáinz was involved in the second. Both penalties were converted by the home team, who managed to turn the score around to 2-1.
Oviedo tried to respond but could not find a way back into the game. In the final stretch, Eldense showed their superiority and took advantage of the situation to further extend their lead. Two goals in the closing minutes sealed the match and left the final score at 4-1. Additionally, several saves by Narváez earlier in the game prevented an even heavier defeat for the visitors.
The blues found little response in a second half where the team led by Javi Calleja dominated the game and grew stronger as the minutes passed. Eldense ultimately imposed their rhythm and punished an Oviedo side that could not recover the form they had shown for much of the first half.
A tough defeat, therefore, for Real Oviedo after the joy of the Asturian derby. Next Monday, October 12, Real Oviedo will return to the Carlos Tartiere to host SD Eibar, offering a new opportunity to bounce back and secure points in front of their home fans.
