Julián Calero appeared at a press conference after this afternoon's defeat at La Nova Creu Alta. The blue coach was critical of the match played by his men against CE Sabadell, "a very bad match, there are no excuses for the defeat."
The Madrid coach continued analyzing in more detail what happened during the match. "Everything we had prepared, controlling the opponent's game and being able to play. We didn't achieve either one or the other. The defeat is fair, and I wouldn't dare to make any excuses. The first one who made a mistake was me."
"We told the players that we had to match their challenges, and then with quality, we could win the game. But we never got the right feeling for the match at any moment."
Real Oviedo reduced the deficit to 2-1, but the third goal for the Catalans came precisely when the scorer, Estanis, was being attended to off the pitch. "What happened with the third goal is regrettable. The match wasn't lost because of that, but they kick you, and one of your players gets injured. You're losing, so we don't want to waste time. A minute and fifteen seconds pass, and they don't let him back in, and you concede the goal. That said, we didn't lose the match because of that. We lost because we didn't match their challenges."
The Carbayón coach reiterated his frustration over the defeat, "because of the way it happened. We weren't ourselves. And that hurts me more."
When asked about next week's derby, he stated, "we will reactivate ourselves starting now."
