Real Oviedo wins the Asturian derby after defeating Real Sporting de Gijón 2-0 at the Carlos Tartiere. The blues dominated from start to finish and secured three points in an outstanding match where the connection between the fans and the team was total throughout the 90 minutes.

After a reception befitting the match to be played, the blue team players came out with full determination, evidenced by Chris Ramos' goal right at the start. The blue striker beat Yáñez one-on-one in a play that ended with the forward getting injured and having to leave the field, replaced by Reina.

With that crazy start, the Tartiere came alive and carried their team forward during a first half in which Oviedo was superior.

After the restart, the Carbayones maintained their game plan and went directly for the second goal. Real Sporting de Gijón, on the other hand, barely threatened the goal defended by Aarón Escandell.

In the 71st minute, Víctor Mingo and Aldasoro came on for Jacobo González and Villahermosa. Shortly after, Gelabert was sent off following a VAR review, leaving the visitors to face the final minutes of the match with one player less.

Enzo Pérez and Aisar were the last substitutions in a match that still had a very special moment to come. The young academy player took advantage of a loose ball in the area to score a volley for his first goal of the season, sending the Tartiere into a frenzy of joy.
