Real Oviedo defender, Nahuel Valentini, appeared in the Press Room at El Requexón following the week’s first training session for Juan Antonio Anquela’s men.

After analysing the previous match, the Argentine declared that, “the group is hurting. We don’t like losing, and we want the fans to be proud of us. The only option we have now is to work to get out of this bad spell. This weekend was the match where the opposition was most superior to us. It was hard on that pitch. We must be realistic and ensure that it doesn’t happen again. In such an even league every team will have a period like this, and we are having ours now”.

Asked about Juan Antonio Anquela’s words in the Press Room at Los Cármenes last Saturday and what he said to the team after the match, the centre back said that, “the Coach gives us his opinion, tells us what he wants from the group, and we have to deal with it. Sometimes matches are difficult. The opposition plays well, and sometimes things work out but at other times they don’t. We spoke about several things to improve. We must do things well, not let our heads drop, and fight to the end. We must be fully committed. We are going to try to work things out, this group deserves it.”

Real Oviedo are going into a new week which will see them face Córdoba at home on Sunday. With respect to the clash against the Andalusian side, Valentini said that, “we must turn the page now. We are playing at home. We will go for the win as always, and will hope that the minor details go in our favour.”

Finally, regarding the manner to reverse the current situation, the Argentine stated that, “the only way I know is hard work, while remaining calm. We must have warm hearts and cool heads, so that we can think clearly,” concluded the defender.
