Real Oviedo midfielder, David Rocha, appeared in the Press Room this morning following the team’s training session at El Requexón.

Rocha is available again having served a one-game suspension, and he declared his “hunger for Sunday to arrive and give everything if selected.” With the match in Cádiz and his red card now forgotten, Rocha wants to “start again from zero now that I’m available again”. In addition, he praised the performance of his teammate, Patrik Hidi, in a match which “I knew would be difficult. We were up against an opponent who didn’t allow us to do what we are used to doing, and they were making strong challenges all match. I think he did a great job.”

Sunday’s match takes place at La Romareda, which David Rocha sees as “one of the best grounds in the division, and we are playing against a historic Primera División club. It is going to be a very difficult match.”

The midfielder believes that, “it will be a battle right up until Matchday 42 this season. Nobody is going to win every week, and any team can pinch points off you. Every point will be worth its weight in gold. We all left with a bitter taste the other day, but when you get a win you remember the draws you’ve been scraping. Obviously having been unable to find a winner in the first 85 minutes the other day it was important not to lose, because if you concede in the final minutes you end up looking stupid.”

Furthermore, Rocha argued that the team is currently “very consistent away from home and we have deserved even more. The last few grounds we’ve visited have been very difficult ones, and we need to keep going as we have been. We need to make the most of what we have. We need to keep clean sheets. That is essential with the damage we can do in attack. If we can do that then we are halfway there. I hope we can get the three points in
such a difficult ground. Winning means you can have a calmer week. Every victory is worth its weight in gold, and there are always so many games against direct rivals. Winning would be brilliant,” he concluded.
