Real Oviedo winger, Saúl Berjón, today appeared in the Press Room at El Requexón.

The Oviedo-born player began by discussing the two yellow cards he received against Zaragoza which mean he will be unavailable for the match against Barcelona B, stating that, “I got the first yellow after asking what the referee had given. I don’t understand his decision, but they are things which can happen in a match. I’m really annoyed. It’s the first time I’ve been sent off, and it leaves a sour taste. I know whoever comes into the team will do well.”

With respect to the defeat suffered, Saúl Berjón highlighted that, “despite us putting in a great performance in defence, we were wasteful with the ball yesterday. The second goal was bad luck. The team was attacking, and the match was open. We are still up there in the fight, and now we need to push forward.” In addition, the Carbayón attacker stated that, “we mustn’t  get worried. During the first half of the season we went through a rough patch at around the same time, but we ended up near the top of the table. Now we need to work, and the good results will come. We are still in a gooD place, and we just need to keep going.”

Regarding the even nature of the division, the Asturian declared that, “La Liga 1|2|3 is very difficult. Every team makes it hard for you. We have now gone three weeks without getting what we wanted, but we need to keep going. We are up towards the top of the table, and we are going to keep picking up points in order to stay up there. Nobody is running away with the league nor being cut adrift at the bottom. and we need to find some consistency.” Furthermore, Saúl stated that, “everything changes with one win. We must take it one game at a time, one win at a time, and show that we are a good team.”

Finally, ahead of Friday’s match against Barcelona B, the winger said that, “a good opponent is coming to visit us. They have just drawn against Nástic. We are going to make it difficult for them and show that we are the team that feels comfortable playing at our ground, not them,” he concluded.
