Real Oviedo secured another win, this time at home, as the Tartiere again proved unbreakable. More than 15,000 Oviedistas backed their team on a rainy night, as Anquela opted for the same line-up and formation that had won last weekend in Lugo.

The home side took control of the ball right from the start of the match and were the team to create more chances during the opening forty-five minutes. Toché tried a flick from Saúl’s cross for the first attempt of the match. Berjón himself then hit a free kick which was kept out by Dimitrievsky, before providing a cross which Cotugno headed over the bar. These chances all came in the first twenty minutes, but it would be just after the half-hour mark that Saúl Berjón fired in from the left-hand side to provide the only goal of the game.

Things continued in much the same way after the break, although Nàstic pushed forward slightly more in attack as they searched for an equaliser. Fabbrini had a chance to seal the win with a driven shot from the edge of the box, but the Catalan side’s keeper denied him. Nàstic responded with a fine shot from inside the box after a set piece, which was saved by Alfonso. Carlos Hernández had another good opportunity to make the score 2-0, heading a free kick towards goal, but Dimitrievsky made the save. Anquela brought on Johannesson and Mossa and Real Oviedo decided that attack was the best form of defence. Fabbrini put the away side’s keeper to the test once more as he met Saúl’s pass in the box, but Dimitrievsky came out on top again. Mossa had the final chance, but his shot was held by the away goalkeeper.

The final whistle blew and, having secured three crucial points, Real Oviedo returned to the playoff places.
