Real Oviedo Captain, Miguel Linares, appeared before the press this afternoon following the team’s return to training. The striker declared that, “I want to get back to work. The fans are excited and that’s normal, but we are the ones who have to keep our feet on the ground. If we don’t keep going as we have been, then within two weeks we will be lower than we want to be. We need to try to keep going like this until Matchday 42.”

Linares sees the Winter Break as a positive in order to “recharge the batteries for the run-in, especially in a very long season like you have in this division. We have to go to Huesca’s ground now, and it’s the most difficult place to go in the league. However, there are three points at stake like in all the other matches, and all the opponents are very difficult. We are going to prepare for it to get something out of it.”

The footballer claimed that the match arrives, “at a great time for both teams and will be decided on minor details. We hope that it goes our way. It’s the same every year in this division; if you relax in a match then you know that things will go badly for you. We know how good Huesca are at home, and we must be very focused.”

In addition, Linares stated that, “we couldn’t be on a better run and it is a very important match. We go into it in optimal shape and spirits, and in anticipation of continuing on this run.”

Speaking personally, the striker insisted that, “the team is more important than anything else. If you perform, then the team is grateful. We are all pushing forward together.”

When asked about his wish for the new year, Linares made clear that, “I only ask for health, because with that health we will be able to fight for the real desire that we all have.”
