The Press Room at El Requexón today played host to the presentation of November’s ‘Jugador Cinco Estrellas’ Player of the Month award to Ibrahima Baldé. Ibra is one of the key men in the Real Oviedo attack, contributing goals and versatility to the team’s play. The Senegalese forward was selected by fans of ‘Los Azules’, who voted between the five players nominated by the beer company on their Twitter handle, @futbolmahou.
After receiving the award, the striker attended to the gathered press, admitting that, “I’m very happy that the fans chose me. It could have gone to any of us; we’re all doing very well. We have to keep working and help the team.”
Regarding his swift adaptation to the team, Ibra commented that, “it’s all in the mind. People help me to give everything. I’m doing well thanks to the team. I have to keep working. I am ready for every battle. I give everything out on the pitch and have to be prepared to help the team.”
With respect to Real Oviedo’s performances in recent matches, the Senegalese forward believes that, “the team is doing well. We have to be careful with Almería, but this group is improving.”
Questioned about what Juan Antonio Anquela asks of him each week, Ibra commented that, “he wants me to battle, and if I score goals then that’s perfect. We have to keep doing well. We have a very good group.”
Finally, regarding the strength-in-depth at Real Oviedo and the signing of Omar Ramos, the attacker highlighted that, “it’s good to have this group. Whoever comes in gives everything and does well. Omar is a quick playerwith good dribbling. We’re going to help him, just like he’ll help us,” concluded the Senegalese striker.
