Real Oviedo Vetusta travelled to Gobela this Saturday to face Arenas Club de Getxo, with the match ending in a 3-0 win for ‘Los Azules’.

The Asturians dominated the clash from start to finish, having travelled to the Basque Country with the clear intention of picking up the three points to maintain their place towards the top of the table. They demonstrated it right from Marcelo’s shot in the opening minutes. It served as a warning shot by Vetusta, who made two changes from their previous match, and who dominated the play and the dangerous chances. Real Oviedo Vetusta made the most of their ball-playing ability in the centre of the field and their clinical attackers, as well as beginning to apply a high pressing game which forced Arenas Club into errors when bringing the ball out from the back. In the 31st minute, Rober played a ball to Borja, who dummied a couple of times before firing home. The teams went in for halftime with the score 0-1. Javi Rozada’s side emerged even more strongly for the second half and managed to increase their advantage through goals by Ernesto and Rober. The first goal came from fine wing play by Lucas, who crossed in for Ernesto to convert emphatically at the back post. One minute later, Rober scored after some fine solo play, sealing the 3-0 away win. The B team had further chances to extend the winning margin, but they couldn’t make the most of their opportunities.

Real Oviedo Vetusta picked up three more points today and currently sit third in the table. They play Izarra at home next week.
