On a day like today, September 9, in the year 1918, the Stadium Club Ovetense, one of the two founding entities of Real Oviedo, received the royal title from King Alfonso XIII.

During the visit that King Alfonso XIII made to Oviedo that day, the monarch received a delegation from the Stadium Club Ovetense, which offered him the honorary presidency of the entity, a title that was formalized in a parchment delivered to the King.

During the audience, held at the Provincial Council Palace of Oviedo, the monarch accepted the honorary presidency of the club and granted it the royal title.
