Yoel Bárcenas rejoined first team training at Real Oviedo this morning following his spell in Asia with the Panama national team. The player explained that, “we were unable to win either match, but it was very good for us moving forward. I was there, but still thinking about things here. I was following the team and I saw the match against Rayo Majadahonda. I need to reintegrate myself as quickly as possible now.”

Asked about his physical condition, Bárcenas assured that, “although I’m slightly tired from the journey, I’m ready for whatever the Coach decides.” With respect to the possible change in formation, the winger commented that, “as long as we are focused and do our jobs, we can get a good result even with two defenders! The players are more important than the system, and the Coach will decide based on who is available.”

Having turned down a national team call up on one occasion earlier in the season, Bárcenas highlighted that, “I’m focused on this team now and treating things with the necessary importance. I hope to return stronger and reintegrate myself as quickly as possible.”

Regarding Osasuna, the winger explained that, “it’s a different opponent that wants the same things that we do. We are playing at home and we’ll give it everything to get the victory. Anyone could play, but the Coach will decide who’s best. I’m going to keep working and be in top physical condition, so that I can be at my best when called upon.”

With respect to the team’s lack of consistency and what they might need to do to improve upon it, Bárcenas commented that, “it’s difficult, because it seems like we’re not working well, when I think we are. The team put a good shift in during the match, but we lost in the last minute. It seems like everything went badly but that’s not true. We have to keep working and improving and try to achieve the consistency we all want.”

Talking about the need to be strong at the Tartiere, Bárcenas said that, “we need to make the fact we’re playing at home count. We will try to become strong at home and get all of the available points, as well as picking some up away from home. We particularly need to make ourselves strong at home,” he concluded.
