Real Oviedo winger, Yoel Bárcenas, appeared in the Press Room at El Requexón ahead of the first training session of the week.
Speaking a couple of days after Saturday’s match in Granada, the Panamanian believes that, “football isn’t giving us what we deserve. The results don’t show the work we’re doing. We have to keep going and prepare for the next match.” In addition, the winger commented that, “we work hard every week but we’ve been missing a bit of luck. We have to make the most of our chances when they come.”
With respect to the upcoming league fixture against Málaga, the final game of the calendar year, Bárcenas reasoned that, “we have to make the most of the weekend’s match, turn over a new leaf and turn this situation around. We have been working well.”
Asked for the feeling within the changing room, Yoel said that, “it’s difficult. The group feels that we’re doing things well, but the results aren’t coming. We’re asking ourselves what we need to do to win matches. We want to turn the situation around through hard work.”
Regarding his feelings on a personal level, as one of the key members of the ‘Carbayón’ attack, the winger stated that, “I feel very good and comfortable. I am here for the Coach and have no problems. I am ready to do whatever the Coach asks of me.”
Finally, in terms of a message to fans ahead of Saturday’s match, Yoel highlighted that, “they want positive results, just like we do. I’d ask them to support us, because we’re going to give 100%. We are going to turn this situation around,” he concluded.
