A special week is now underway for Oviedistas as our club turns 95 years old. Our club has had a life full of unforgettable moments, but what has reigned supreme throughout our 34,699-day existence has been the sense of belonging that Oviedistas have demonstrated.
This anniversary week will feature a number of acts to commemorate our club turning 95, and the final tribute will be paid during Saturday's game against SD Ponferradina at the NMR Carlos Tartiere.
Today we are pleased to let our fans know about the logo designed to celebrate the landmark. It is inspired by the club's former 'Jorubu'scoreboard, and will feature on our players' shirts during Saturday's match. The match-worn shirts will be put up for auction after the game, with the funds raised going towards a charitable cause, to be announced in the coming days.
The logo designed for the club's 95th Anniversary pays tribute to several important symbols in our history. The colours of Real Club Deportivo Oviedo and Real Stadium Ovetense, the two founder clubs whose merger led to the foundation of Real Oviedo, flank a special number 95. The nod to our famous Jorubu scoreboard can be found in the number 5. The 5 is drawn with the same anomaly as it featured on the old scoreboard; something which has forever remained in our club's history.
The 95th Anniversary shirt, along with the other five products which have been specially designed to mark the date, will be put on sale in our official club shops and at realoviedoshop.es on Wednesday 24th March. The other five products joining the 95th Anniversary Kit are a sweater, am scarf, a T-shirt, a mask, and a cup, and Oviedistas will be able to takethem home and celebrate another year in our football club's history with us.
The official shirt will be on sale to mark our anniversary for a limited time only and only upon prior order, both online and in store. The shirts will be priced at €69.95 for adults and €59.95 for children. Shirts will be available to reserve between 24th and 31st March and stocks are limited to 250 shirts in total.
Oviedistas living outside of Oviedo who wish to purchase any 95th Anniversary item will be able to benefit from free postage within Spain on orders above €30 between 24th and 31st March.
Completing another year, or rather another season, is always a synonym for happiness. However, in our case we are filled with particular pride and gratitude thanks to the untiring demonstrations of loyalty and honour by each and every one of our fans, throughout our history. Thanks to them we can celebrate our 95th Anniversary still FULL OF LIFE.
