Our anniversary week has got underway with one of the acts we were most excited about. We have missed each and every one of you Oviedistas over the last year, with you being unable to enter the NMR Carlos Tartiere due to the pandemic. We have now welcomed a small group of fans back into our stadium with one motive: 95 steps to fill the Carlos Tartiere with life once more.
In 2009, during one of the most difficult periods in our history, a group of Oviedistas had the imagination and excitement to add some colour to our stadium. They painted the words 'Real Oviedo' in blue on the backdrop of grey seats. Those seats are now white, but still respect the original design, and they sit in stands now filled with the colour blue.
In the past few weeks we made several appeals for that group of Oviedistas to get in touch with us through our social media profiles. A few days ago they responded to our invitation to the NMR Carlos Tartiere and, in accordance with all safety measures and health protocols, were able to set foot inside their stadium once more and enjoy a special moment. This was an act of recognition and gratitude from the club, and we welcomed the feeling of once again being able to fill our home with life thanks to their smiles, albeit under masks.
