80 years ago, Jugo made his debut.

On a day like today, September 23, in the year 1945, defender Jugo played his first official match with Real Oviedo, where he would be a player for three seasons.

His full name was Juan Jugo Larrauri. He was born in Galdácano (Vizcaya) on March 15, 1920. After playing for CD Galdácano and CD Sabadell, he joined Real Oviedo on August 17, 1945. He usually played as a right defender.

On that September 23, 1945, when Jugo debuted for Real Oviedo, the opponent was RCD Español, and the match was in the First Division. The carbayón team won with a score of 1-0. Real Oviedo's lineup that day was as follows: Argila, Jugo, Pena, Sansón, Diestro, Sirio, Antón, Alcalde, Chas, Herrerita, Emilín. The coach was Manuel Meana.

Jugo debuted with the Spanish national team on June 23, 1946, against Ireland. Due to a bacterial infection, he did not play any official matches in the 1946-47 season. He was a player for Real Oviedo until September 30, 1947. He passed away in Zaragoza on October 13, 2007.
