Carlos Muñoz Becomes a Real Oviedo Ambassador

The club legend has rejoined Real Oviedo in an institutional role, which will see him represent the Club and the Foundation

Real Oviedo and Carlos Muñoz have reached an agreement for the club legend to return to Los Azules. He will represent the Club in different acts and work to transmit his love for the club which runs through his veins.
Carlos Antonio Muñoz Cobo was born in Úbeda in 1961 and is now returning to his former home as a point of union between fans and the Club. Carlos Muñoz's return to Real Oviedo is an important step in Grupo Pachuca's project in the capital of Asturias, as it looks to bring back those with knowledge of Real Oviedo's history and philosophy.
Carlos Muñoz is a legend and living history of Real Oviedo. He arrived in 1987 and featured in one of the golden periods for a Club for which he has professed his eternal love. He was a born goal scorer, who helped Real Oviedo to achieve promotion to the First Division in 1987-88, as well as playing a key part in the side that reached the UEFA Cup knockout fixture against Genoa in 1991. He played a total of eight seasons for Los Azules, finishing as league top scorer during the 1987-88 campaign.
The former striker now starts a new journey with Real Oviedo. He won the hearts of the fans previously through his goals and love for our colours.
