Real Oviedo had remained unbeaten at Carlos Tartiere since September. Last night the Blues lost to Real Valladolid, who netted in all their chances in the first half to take a clear lead. However, Real Oviedo kept on fighting until the final whistle.
Even though Valladolid scored first, it was Real Oviedo who had got near the visitor's goal before. A free kick by Susaeta tested Kepa, who cleared ball to corner kick. Toché was about to connect with an assist by Koné from the right win, but Kepa was faster than the striker. Yet it was Juan Villar who scored first for the visitors, though Real Oviedo struck back five minutes later when Koné equalised inside the goal area after a cross by Borja Valle from the right wing. The draw was not to last for long as Juan Villar's header made it 1-2 for the visitors. Soon after, Roger's right-footed diagonal shot after a fast counter meant the third goal for Valladolid. Real Oviedo's response came by means of a low long shot by Erice, which Kepa blocked. Then Koné's assist to Toché failed to be materialised. Then, Esteban bumped into a Valladolid player after he had run out of penalty area in order to head off a fast counter. After he was lying in pain on the pitch for some minutes, he got back to his goalkeeping duties yet he had to be substituted in the second half.
After half time, and with Miño on the Blues goal, Valladolid scored their fourth goal. Once again Juan Villar managed to score, getting a hat trick. From then on, Real Oviedo was set on to attack relentlessly. Both Edu Bedia and Linares were brought on in an attempt to make a comeback. Koné dispatched Real Oviedo's second goal to close the gap in the score 2-4 and the Tartiere got behind the Blues keeping the faith in coming from behind. Finally, Real Oviedo's hard effort did not get its deserved reward and the Blues lost back to back games for the first time this season. The Tartiere applauded their squad's fighting spirit as they were off to focus on Alcorcón's fixture next Saturday.
