Real Oviedo has initiated an internal reorganization for the 2026/2027 season with the aim of strengthening its institutional and corporate structure.
One of the main changes within the new organizational structure is the appointment of César Martín as the new executive vice president of the Club. Until now, the former blue footballer served as the director of the Real Oviedo Foundation and director of Institutional Relations, roles in which he has carried out significant work connecting the club with institutions and the social fabric of Asturias. His new position is a recognition of his career and the role he has played in recent years within the carbayón entity.
Another notable addition is Antonio Virgili, who joins Real Oviedo as the new director of strategic planning. Virgili has extensive experience in institutional management and communication. He was the director of RTPA from 2011 to 2019 and, until his arrival at the Oviedo entity, served as the general coordinator of the Oviedo Chamber of Commerce. His inclusion aims to bring a global and strategic vision to the Club's growth in the coming years.
In the institutional and representation area, Real Oviedo is also strengthening the role of its ambassadors. Vicente González-Villamil, a historic former player and coach of the blue team, joins the Club as a new ambassador.
González-Villamil will share responsibilities with Carlos Muñoz Cobo, who will continue to play a key role in this area. Since his appointment as ambassador, Carlos has carried out significant representation work for the Club at numerous institutional, social, and sporting events, establishing himself as a respected and approachable figure both within and outside the Oviedo community.
Finally, as part of the entity's modernization process, Rafael Rodríguez joins as the new technology consultant. His role will focus on the development and activation of new tools and technological processes that will enable the club to continue advancing in innovation, digitalization, and resource optimization.
With these changes, Real Oviedo takes a new step in consolidating an organizational structure that combines experience, knowledge, Oviedo identity, and a forward-looking vision to ambitiously face the challenges of the 2026/2027 season.
