Real Oviedo faced a new preseason friendly this Wednesday, taking on SD Ponferradina in the XXXVI edition of the Villa de Grado Trophy. For this occasion, the blue team's coach, Julián Calero, fielded a lineup with several changes compared to the match against Depor, consisting of: Miguel Narváez, Aisar, Marco Esteban, Dani Calvo, Samu, Aldasoro, Enzo Pérez, Villahermosa, Diego Menéndez, Jacobo González, and Işfan.

The match started well for the blues, who imposed their game from the beginning. In the 17th minute, Aldasoro scored the first goal with a great strike from the edge of the box, leaving Alvin with no chance. A great assist from Villahermosa left Jacobo alone, and he didn’t miss the open goal after the goalkeeper’s failed clearance.

With the match already decided, Agudín, Nacho Vidal, and Cardero entered the field to play the final minutes of a game that still had a fourth goal to come. In the closing stages, Pablo Sáenz came close to scoring a spectacular goal, but his shot hit the post.
