El Molinón today played host to the third match of the season in Grupo II of the Segunda B, as Real Oviedo Vetusta faced Sporting B. The fixture ended with a 2-1 victory for Los Azules.

The Carbayón B team travelled to Gijón with the clear intention of converting their good performances during the early weeks of the league season into results, and managed to add their first win to the tally. Javi Rozada’s lads, aware of the importance of picking up points away from home, emerged with the desire to dominate the ball and to try to create danger on the wings. Staying true to their identity, Los Carbayones managed to deal with their rival’s chances effectively and went in search of goals right from the first minute. They eventually opened the scoring on the verge of halftime. Lobato and Ernesto combined wonderfully, with the latter heading home the opener, and the two sides went in for halftime with the score 0-1. The home side managed to equalise in the second half with a free kick from the edge of the box. Javi Rozada’s men pushed further forward in
search of victory; continuing to threaten the Sporting net, dominating the play and creating the best chances. In the 80th minute, Javi Hernández made the most of a rebound from Casi from a corner, nudging home the second Real Oviedo Vetusta goal with his heel.

Real Oviedo Vetusta picked up their first win of the season, with the three points moving them up into tenth place in the table, albeit with several teams still to play this afternoon. Javi Rozada’s team will face Calahorra next weekend at El Requexón.
