On Sunday morning, El Requexón played host to the clash between Real Oviedo Vetusta and Gimnástica de Torrelavega. Javi Rozada’s lads triumphed 2-0, extending their unbeaten run to seven matches

The Real Oviedo B team brought in Viti in place of Borja, in their only change from last week. They produced a very professional performance, dominating the play in midfield and again showing fine defensive organisation as they managed to deal with their opponent’s attacks without any problems. Real Oviedo Vetusta once more showed their ruthless streak in front of goal during the first half. During one of the few chances created, Viti produced some fine individual play and set up Edu Cortina, who fired into the top corner and opened the scoring. The teams went in for halftime with the score 1-0. Vetusta tried to push forward more in the second half and swarmed the away side’s goal. They controlled the match very well and played with the confidence of the positive scoreline. As a result, Javi Mier was then able to double the lead, making the most of a counter attack to go through one-on-one with the keeper. Real Oviedo Vetusta kept going after the second goal, but couldn’t make the most of their chances. They did go down to ten men during the final stages, with Casi dismissed.

Real Oviedo Vetusta have now won three matches in a row after this victory. They are third in the table and travel to Amorebieta during the next matchday.
