After being announced as a new Real Oviedo signing on Saturday evening, Erik Jirka today visited the Carlos Tartiere. The Slovakian arrives on a permanent contract for two years, with the option of a further year. He passed a medical at Clínica Asturias this morning, and was then officially presented in the Press Room.
The winger was accompanied by Club Vice President Manuel Paredes, and Adrián Lucán, the player's agent and interpreter for the Press Conference. The player addressed the media gathered at the Tartiere, beginning by discussing what it meant to him to have joined the club from the capital of Asturias. "I'm proud and happy to be at such a historic side as Real Oviedo, where Peter Dubovský also played. I want to triumph here like he did and grow in this team."
Regarding what he can contribute to the side, Erik Jirka highlighted that "Real Oviedo plays on the counter, with speed, and I can offer my pace to help the team."
Finally, talking about the club's objective, the winger commented that "the club and I want to finish as high as possible, and we are going to work towards that."
Erik Jirka will be able to join up with team training this afternoon at El Requexón.
