Real Oviedo and Lucas Ahijado have reached an agreement to extend the full back's contract until 30th June 2026, meaning that the local lad will remain tied to Los Azules for the return to Primera División.
Having come through the youth academy at Real Oviedo, Lucas Ahijado represents the path of effort, commitment, and dedication that all our academy players have to fulfilling their dream: making their first-team debut. The Asturian reached that milestone during the 2013/14 season, and has so far played 155 competitive matches for the club.
Last season, in which Veljko Paunovic's side secured promotion to Primera División, the academy graduate showed his ability to adapt and compete, putting in two fine performances in the playoff final, which allowed the Asturians to reach the objective that they had been pursuing for so many years.
Lucas Ahijado will continue to form part of the project of the Club and of Grupo Pachuca, with the ambition of continuing to grow and carry Real Oviedo as high as possible.
