Real Oviedo midfielder, Lolo González, appeared today at the pressroom of El Requexón.

The lad from Cádiz faces his third preseason week with Real Oviedo and recognized that “the work is a bit hard but good. We are accumulating gasoline for the season.”

Regarding his future, Lolo acknowledged that “there was talk in the newspapers about leaving, but both the club and I know what we want. I have a contract and I want to stay here. The idea was to seize the opportunity,
first in the B-Team and now here. Last year was a good season. Real Oviedo is the only thing my head. I am very comfortable, I would love to be here for more years.”

When asked about his experience in the second division last season, the midfielder said that “he wanted to make the leap and enjoy. Now I am here, and I want to fulfill my contract. It’s every player’s dream and I am grateful that Real Oviedo gave me the opportunity.”

Concerning what Sergio Egea asks him on the pitch, Lolo commented that “he wants me to try to get to the area and do what he asks. In recent years I’ve been good at scoring goals. I try to be a sponge and learn from
everyone, both from the youngsters and veterans alike. In the second division, I noticed the jump, people are very prepared.”

With a squad where B-team players are very involved on a day-to-day basis, the Andalusian highlighted that “Real Oviedo is proud to have people from the academy, people who are hungry. It is good for the club and says a lot about the youth-academy. In the Second B division, there are players prepared to make the jump, they just need the push.”

Lastly, regarding how he sees the team prior to the start of the season, Lolo believes that “the group is here to compete, you can see that the team is strong. It will be seen in the first game, but I believe we can compete
against anyone,” concluded the Andalusian.
