The pressroom of El Requexón hosted Sergio Tejera’s press conference this morning.
The midfielder assessed the preseason workload, ensuring that “we are training well, we have seen improvements every week. We have been doing a good job and we have to continue to do the same.”
Regarding the work intensity demanded from midfielders, the Catalonian believes that “with double pivot you can’t negotiate, you have to be in top form. In the end, we’ll have to get in the habit of attacking the box and creating danger, but we can’t neglect the defensive side of things.”
About the lads from the B-team that joined the first-team, Tejera said that “we all know each other. They have been training well, and we know their quality. There is a high level of competition, and we are thrilled with it.” Additionally, concerning Lolo, the midfielder highlighted that “I am not surprised by his performance, he has a lot of talent. He had a great year, and he will add a lot to the squad.”
On a personal note, Sergio Tejera stated that “I feel good, with the desire to help. I know a little more about Real Oviedo and this jersey, and that’s the message we need to convey. I want to continue helping, improving and being well.”
Lastly, regarding the division and the existing competition in it, the ‘Carbayón’ midfielder believes that “we come from years of great level, and we are prepared to compete against anyone. We face LaLiga with confidence. We have last year’s example of Mallorca, everything goes through work and commitment. People are committed and we all have to make a good group,” concluded the Catalonian.
