Real Oviedo right back Diegui Johannesson made an appearance in the press room at El Requexón.

After the beginning of another week of the preseason, the Asturian believes that, “the team is doing really well, working hard. This week has been pretty difficult, we’ve been getting to know each other, it’s important.”

Speaking about the strategies that Juan Antonio Anquela instills in each session, Diegui points out that, “Coach emphasizes strategy, he’s trying to test out different schemes. It’s very important with the season about to start.”

When asked about the competition that exists at the right back position with the arrival of Carlos Martínez, the Asturian confirmed that, “I’m just trying to work hard and make it difficult for the coach. Competion is a good thing and now we just have to compete for the spot.” Also, regarding the contributions of the players from Real Oviedo Vetusta during the preseason, the player from Villaviciosa recognizes that, “They can contribute a lot. They are in Segunda B, they’re going to get more experience and we’ll always be here to help them. From what I’ve seen this preseason, they’re doing things really well.”

With the possibility that he might be a captain this season, Johannesson understands that, “I’ve been playing here for a long time and I would be willing to do it. I’m not worried about it, but if it happens, I’ll be glad to do it. That duty is going to be very important. I’m young, but I’m also a veteran.”

Finally, regarding the parity in LaLiga 1|2|3, the right back highlighted that, “we know that we are in a very competitive division, it’s going to be a very even competition”, the player from Villaviciosa concluded.
