Real Oviedo defender, Javier Hernández, this morning appeared in the Press Room, following the team’s training session at El Requexón.

The Andalusian, who scored the opening goal yesterday against Numancia, declared his happiness at the victory. “It’s good to start the year like that, winning away from home after going a while without a victory. I’m very happy about it.”

It was a crazy match at times, and Javi Hernández reasoned that, “we never stopped believing. We took the lead, and did well up until their equaliser at the start of the second half. Carlos scored, and then they equalised
again, but the team didn’t give up. We kept trying right up until the end when Christian scored. We celebrated a big victory away from home. It was very important and we were very happy.”

Next up is Tenerife at the Tartiere. Javi sees them as “difficult, just like every team in this division, but they are in need (of points). We
want to keep our good run going now,” he concluded.
