The Real Oviedo footballer, Ilyas Chaira, appeared this Wednesday in the press room of El Requexón, coinciding with the team's return to training.

The session was marked by the last LaLiga match, a game in which, according to the winger, “we needed to get the three points to see things differently.” Even so, Chaira acknowledged that, although the locker room is “upset,” there are reasons for optimism: “The break will do us good to work and improve.”

Veljko Paunovic's team faces this break for international commitments outside the relegation zone. “It has been a difficult start in terms of opponents. Now it has to be our moment, and we have to take advantage of it,” the player pointed out. The next match will be against RCD Espanyol, at the Carlos Tartiere: “It doesn’t have to be a revenge for the knockout round. We have to focus on our own, which is winning games and getting the three points.”

The blue footballer also highlighted the competitive level of the category: “In this division, there is an extra gear, and you can feel it in the pace.” Even so, he believes that the results are not reflecting the team's effort: “This is football, and we have to take advantage of our game to be more decisive.”

On an individual level, Chaira assures that he is feeling “better and better,” although he acknowledges that he needs to improve his personal stats. In terms of scoring, he admits that he misses finding the net but is confident that “once the first one comes, the floodgates will open.”

Finally, with his mind set on improving and climbing positions, the attacker sums up the group's sentiment: “The First Division changes a lot; there are surprises. It doesn’t affect us; we have to stay away from relegation.”
