Matchday 23 in Grupo I of the Segunda División B took Real Oviedo Vetusta to Madrid to face Rayo Majadahonda, with the match ending in a 1-1 draw.
Emilio Cañedo's team put in a professional performance at the Cerro del Espino, countering the threat of a difficult opponent in Rayo Majadahonda. The B team created more than their opponent in the first half and controlled the play, having several chances to open the scoring. Despite this, the first half came to an end with the score 0-0. Rayo Majadahonda emerged the stronger side in the second half, and won a penalty in the 67th minute. The home player converted to put the Madrid side into the lead. Real Oviedo built on a basis of professionalism, hard work and a lot of sacrifice to go looking for the equaliser, and it arrived in the 85th minute. Lorea got away from the defence and beat the home keeper with a fine strike. The match ended in a 1-1 draw.
This was a hard-fought point that the B team won at a difficult ground. The next fixture sees them face UD Sanse at El Requexón.
