Real Oviedo Director of Football Francesc Arnau offered a press conference this lunchtime. A few weeks ago, he had announced he would speak to the media once the January transfer window had closed. It did so on Friday, and so Arnau today took the time to evaluate it, discussing both the departures from and arrivals at the club.
The press conference began at 12:00 and was broadcast live through the club's different social media platforms. It lasted around forty minutes, and Francesc Arnau took time to answer all the questions posed by those present.
With respect to his evaluation of the make-up of the squad and team, the Catalan was clear when explaining that, "the work continues for a Director of Football, it never stops. I hope that there has been some hope given, so that the fans come to the ground and feel they can identify with the team. I hope the squad picks up on it and we can have more moments like Sunday. We had to deal with a lot of things which would have been hard for us in other situations. The goal ruled out by VAR, the missed penalty, the equaliser... and the team continued battling in the same way. The fans can transmit something to the team, and the team picks it up. It's about unity. This team has a soul. It works and fights... if things don't go your way on the basis of football, you have to try to do it through heart and drive. In that sense, the fans have a key role, and as such I hope they can provide huge support for our team."
